Hamanasi Beach Resort
in the Hopkins Village area of southern Belize is ideally situated for a
combined beach and rainforest vacation.
Divers and snorkelers will
love the availability of a variety of snorkeling and diving spots close
to the resort, including the Meso-American Barrier Reef Glover's Reef
Atoll, a World Heritage Site and the most remote island group in the
country, with over 700 patch reefs in its 100 square mile lagoon created
by coral formations.
(Day trips to both the Turneffe and
Lighthouse Atolls are also possible from Hamansi's central location.)

Jungle, ruins and wildlife enthusiasts will also be
happy with Hamanasi's proximity to the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary,
Sittee River canoeing, Mayflower Archeological Reserve, the Nim Li Punit
and Lubaantun Mayan Ruins, and Cave's Branch cave tubing adventures.
Plus, anglers will find much
to recommend Hamanasi for an exotic saltwater fishing trip with easy
access to hard-bottomed flats, mangroves, rivers and blue water for
tarpon, permit, bonefish, snook, tuna, Barracuda, jacks, snappers, King
Mackerel and Barracuda. (And with the availability of so many
other activities at Hamansi, non-angling companions don't have to worry
about finding something to do while their significant other is out after
bragging rights.)
