Snorkeling Gear Orientation |
The Placencia
area offers a number of snorkeling venues, including Laughing Bird Caye,
Ranguana Caye, the Silk Cayes (a/k/a Queen Cayes), Moho Caye, Whipray
Caye and the Lark Caye Range -- not to mention the Mesoamerican Barrier
Reef, the western hemisphere's longest barrier reef.

|
Most
snorkeling trips are a full day in duration, and include lunch and gear,
although a few half-day trips are available.
And, don't forget whale shark snorkeling interaction
around the full moons in April and May of each year -- a rare
opportunity to snorkel with the oceans' "gentle giants."

A variety of
jungle, Mayan ruins and caving tours are available from the Placencia
Peninsula, including the following:

|
|
We attempt to select the best guides and tour
operations for each of these tours. Therefore, advance
notice is appreciated if you are interested in any of these activities.
Also, except for the Monkey River tour, a minimum of
4 persons is required for each tour. Consequently, flexibility in
scheduling is required if you are traveling with fewer than 3 other
people. |
