Jungle
Camp

Xunantunich Mayan Ruins |
This Cave 'N Caye Belize travel package begins with private ground
transport from Belize City to a comfortable jungle "camp" sited next
to a lazy jungle river.
For the next two days, your clients can
float 7 miles down an underground jungle river past ancient Mayan
artifacts, jungle waterfalls and a crystal cathedral and explore
the jungle environment with a native bushman.
Or, they can tour ancient Mayan cities,
rapel 300 feet through the jungle canopy, kayak a jungle river or
spend a full day horseback riding under the jungle canopy.
|
|
And,
never fear, they'll
have a jungle camp experience, but without sacrificing their creature
comforts.
Lodging is in
comfortable jungle bungalows that include private baths (hot and cold
water), ceiling fans, screening and very comfortable beds. The
camp itself offers great food, full bar -- even Internet access via
satellite.
|
Day 4 of the Cave 'n Caye Belize adventure continues with ground
transport to the Garifuna cultural capital of Dangriga Town in
southern Belize for boat pick-up and transport to beautiful South
Water Caye.
South Water Caye is a
15-acre island surrounded by coral
reef AND located almost on top of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef,
a designated World Heritage Site and the longest
living coral reef in the
world!

Southwater Caye Shoreline

Private Cabana at South Water Lodge
|
|
South Water Caye is a
wonderful spot for snorekling, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing or just
doing nothing at all. In fact, the beauty and diversity of the
marine environment in the South Water Caye area led
to its designation
as a protected marine reserve to preserve its abundant marine life
including mangroves, vast sea-grass beds, coral gardens, coral mounds,
vertical walled drop-offs, Great Frigate Birds, Brown Boobies, Sea
Turtles, Eagle Rays and dolphins, not to mention sport fish such as
permit, bones, tuna, tarpon, Barracuda, King Mackerel, jacks and
snappers.
Lodging here is in very
comfortable private cabanas with private bath (hot and cold water),
fans, and private verandahs overlooking the island's mangroves.) |
