Southern Belize CayesThe beauty of Belize is far more than just its small tropical islands, palm trees, Caribbean Sea and its barrier reef and flats teeming with live coral and fish.

Belize's real beauty lies in its unique diversity, encompassing the beauty of Caribbean, yes, but also its tropical forests, Mayan ruins, jungle rivers, caves, cane farms, banana plantations, groves of sweet smelling oranges and grapefruits, jaguars, manatees, dolphins, toucans, Coatimundis, mahogany, hibiscus, Xate, bonefish, deer and tapirs -- to just start the list.

A Mayan family at Maya Centre, BelizeMost importantly, this diversity encompasses the people and the communities of Belize --  Mennonites, Ketchki and Mopan Mayas, Garifuna, Creole, Chinese, Taiwanese, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Guatemalan, Honduran, Italian, North American and British immigrants -- all living and working together -- and truly glad to welcome visitors to their beautiful country.  (Most visitors who return to Belize again and again, do so because of the incredible warmth of its people.)

Jungle River, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, BelizeAmazingly, all of this beauty and diversity is packed into one tiny English speaking tropical country tucked between Guatemala and Mexico in Central America.  (Belize is about the size of Massachusetts with a population of less than 300,000 people.)

Tim Stidham, angler, Wyatt Cabral, guide, 100+ lb. tarpon caught off Tarpon CayeWhich means that it's possible to be snorkeling with whale sharks or fishing for bonefish on the flats one day, and hiking through the jungle or touring a Mayan ruin the next.  Or sailing, or rappelling, or birding, or mountain biking, or canoeing and kayaking, or horseback riding on a Mayan farm, or scuba diving the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.

Cayo Espanto, BelizeAnd if that's not enough, Belize also offers a wide range of hotels, resorts, lodges, guesthouses and beach cabanas, from sharing a small hut with a Mayan family in a rural Mayan jungle village, to a villa on a  private island with a private pool, dock and butler to cater to your every need - and almost everything in between.

But, with all of Belize's diversity to experience and choose from, putting together the "perfect" Belize vacation can be somewhat daunting.

Tom and Mark catch dinner on a Belize sailing cruiseDestinations Belize specializes in helping our clients make the right choices based on their individual interests, expectations and budgets, no matter what the focus of a particular Belize vacation might be - a Belize honeymoon, a "just the guys" Belize fishing trip, a sailing cruise among Belize's many small palm fringed islands, an anniversary celebration, a family trip with the kids, or a "get-away-from-it-all for a week and do nothing" escape.
